A-line kids dress with circle pocket
Sweety dress with dotted circle pocket
Hello,
I have sewed this dress before starting my blog. So, I do not have any photographs of the production phases. But I try to give you the information in detail.
I use the dress upper pattern from my daughters combed cotton dress which I bought. And ın original dress there were arms and the shoulders are a bit wide for an armless dress. I will use another pattern for a dress like that to seem more esthetically.
I cut the fabric a straight line from the hem which getting wide 4-5 cm. (approximately 2 inches.)
Actually, the red dotted fabric is really rigid and not for suitable sew a dress, but I used it to recycle. It is really easy to unravel because of its texture. I cut it by zigzag scissor
I use an appropriate sized plate to draw the circle pocket. I cut bot of two fabrics. I first sewed them to each other and then to the front part of the dress. After this application, I continue the dress sewing.
Dress
Firstly, I combined the shoulders and then complete the collar sewing. I sewed the armholes before the sides of the dress.
I equaled the hemlines and then add the red dotted fabrics both to back and front of the dress and for the last process was sewing the sides.
Dress dimensions
I am going to give you the exact dimensions but to have criteria for evaluating, my daughter is 4 years old and not so long or petite. Have a normal sized girl for her peers.
Dress length: 57 cm ( 22.44 inches) (From shoulder to hemline)
Collar width:14 cm (5.5 inches )
Armhole length:13cm(5.1 inches)
Chest width :33cm (13 inches) (Point under the armhole)
I understood using a rigid fabric at the hemline is not a good idea, I do not recommend it. Bur for the pocket as an accessory, seems really good.
As a result, my daughter likes the dress and wear it often. I hope this inspires you a bit.
If you try, I’ll really appreciate sharing with you.
Have a good weekend.
